Pacers' Murphy out with sore lower back
NEW YORK (AP) Troy Murphy missed Indiana's game at New York with a bruised lower back, leaving the winless Pacers without their leading rebounder.
Murphy was hurt Tuesday after a hard foul in the first quarter of the Pacers' 111-93 home loss to Denver. Indiana coach Jim O'Brien said he didn't know how long the forward would be out, but said he had trouble putting his shoes on Wednesday.
O'Brien also said guard Travis Diener (toe) wouldn't play.
Murphy is averaging 8.7 points and 9.7 rebounds. He was second in the league in rebounding and third in 3-point percentage last season.
